It all started when my daughter was born.

The miracle of a baby… it changed everything.

Truthfully, I’d always felt a little unsure around babies. I remember being a teenager, working in a restaurant, silently hoping families with young children wouldn’t be seated at my tables. I didn’t feel connected to that kind of closeness. Family, to me, had always felt… distant. Complicated. Absent.

But when my daughter arrived, something shifted.

Suddenly, I was flooded with emotions I didn’t even have words for.
Fierce love. Protectiveness. Awe.
Grief, even - for the love I hadn’t felt growing up.

It hit me all at once: I wanted to give her everything I didn’t have.

That’s where Nest began.

Not as a business plan or a product, but as a promise.
A vow to create something beautiful and meaningful.
A space where love could be seen, captured, and remembered.

I couldn’t sleep for the thoughts swirling in my mind.

I didn’t know exactly what I was creating, I didn’t know what it would look like yet. But I knew what it would stand for and that it needed to matter. That night, I reached for my phone in the dark and typed a single word:

Nest.

It wasn’t just a name - it was a calling.
A promise to every child who walks through my doors:
You are loved. You matter. You belong.

Why We Do What We Do

At Nest, portraits aren’t just pictures.
